Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Every year, various places across the world celebrate all things German culture (and beer) at their very own Oktoberfests, and Indiana is definitely not an exception. The Hoosier State is home to several wonderful Oktoberfest celebrations, and each one is 100 percent worthy of a visit – even from out of state! I’d like to take a moment to focus on the small town of St. John, Indiana, where the upcoming St. John Oktoberfest is waiting to blow your mind in the best of ways. This is one fall festival in Indiana you won’t want to miss, no matter where you are.
Every autumn, a little place called the St. John the Evangelist Parish hosts an Oktoberfest to remember.
It's so much more than just a place for adults 21 and over to come and drink beer; it's a whole-family affair, with plenty to do for kids and adults of all ages.
This year's festivities will take place from September 22nd through September 24th.
The first night kicks off at 6 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m. There will be live music, face painting for the kiddos, and a Biergarten the grown-ups won't want to pass up.

On the second day - Saturday, September 23rd, things kick off at 2 p.m. and continue well into the night, concluding at 11 p.m.
There are a couple of Saturday-only attractions, like a fire truck for the kids. When I say this particular Oktoberfest is family-friendly, I definitely mean it.
Explore aspects of German and European culture with folks dressed in their best (Lederhosen, that is).
