It’s the second half of August and the end of summer is coming no matter how we feel about it. For some of us, it means cooler weather and being more active. For others, it means back to school! But for all of us, it means a chance to send off summer in style. Jasper Winery, a popular winery in Des Moines, is kicking off a new cider festival in Iowa this year, and it looks amazing. Jasper Winery will host its Iowa Wine and Cider Festival on August 26th this year, and while we don’t know too much about the event yet due to it being the debut year, Jasper Winery is promising live music, food trucks, lawn games, winery tours – and of course, plenty of tastings of the many amazing varieties of wine and cider that put Jasper Winery on the map! This festival sounds like a one-of-a-kind way to celebrate the end of summer, Iowa-style!

Are you looking forward to this new cider festival in Iowa? Have you visited Jasper Winery in the past? Tell us in the comments section! The Jasper Winery website has full details on this year’s new event, and you can follow the Jasper Winery Facebook page for any new updates. This place is just another reason Des Moines is Iowa’s cultural center, so don’t head out too quickly! Consider paying a visit to the city’s legendary old-school Mexican restaurant, or booking a night at the historic Surety Hotel.
