The dancers have practiced all year for their traditional Swedish folk dances and are sure to put on a great show.

The Grand Parade is an hour-long affair filled with marching bands, Swedish costumes, and more.

This is such a great biennial event that's so much fun for the whole family!

This little city in Miami County has a population of just under 5,000.

This is a beautiful area, and you'll find plenty to enjoy at any time of year.

Another amazing place to experience nature - even if it's a bit more of a long-distance view - is the Powell Observatory.

Want to take a walk on the wild side? Cedar Cove Conservation is a big cat rescue in Louisburg that has more than two dozen wild cats present.

Of course, if you're taking an autumn trip, it makes sense you'd want to check out some fall-specific activities. Louisburg Cider Mill is just perfect for getting in the spirit of the season.

The fall fun doesn't end there, however. You'll also find Powell Pumpkin Patch in Louisburg.

Kill Creek Park is an 897-acre park in Johnson County, near Olathe. There's a lot to do here, and you'll find more than 12 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian usage. There's also a swimming beach and marina.

The trail we're covering today is a 3.4-mile loop that encircles the northern part of the park.

The views here are beautiful, with space as far as the eye can see.

The route is actually made up of three separate trails: a connector trail, and the Hank and Eddie Trails.

Since the park has an extensive trail map, you can mix and match your hike to your liking. If you don't feel like heading out for a long trek, just take a shorter route.

This is such a fun hike, and it'll only take most hikers about an hour and a half, so it will be a good way to stretch your legs without going on an all-day trek.

The Cyrus Hotel is housed in a century-old building that gives the hotel a great vibe.

The views are spectacular, and we love the decor of each room.

The hotel has all the amenities you'd expect from a four-star hotel, with comfortable beds, a fitness room, and more.

The Cyrus Hotel's restaurant, The Weather Room, serves up American dishes, with a wide array of choices on the menu.

You'll find so many things to do in Topeka. One of my favorite areas is Gage Park.

The Evel Knievel Museum is one of the quirkiest museums in Kansas, and also among the most underrated.

While the Farmers' Almanac predictions may not be as long-awaited as they were in the days before satellite and computers, many still respect this historic institution.

The Farmers' Almanac bases its predictions on a variety of secret factors, including astronomy, sunspots, and lunar tides. The formula is a closely guarded secret.

While winter doesn't officially start until December 21, the winter predictions for Kansas state that there may be blizzard conditions in early December.

While Kansas is not specifically mentioned as being part of the storm area, Oklahoma is, so it's not hard to imagine that we might get some December snowstorms.

Extensive rain and snow are expected, with temperatures hovering around average or slightly colder than average.

That might not sound particularly brutal, but it will be if you got used to last year's generally warmer winter temperatures!

The Farmers' Almanac is also predicting a slightly longer-than-usual winter this year, with some areas seeing snow even in early April.

Meriden is one of the many small cities that dot the Kansas landscape. It's in the western part of Jefferson County.

The non-profit group Meriden Antique Engine and Threshers Association works to preserve old-school farming methods.

We're so excited for the upcoming fall festival! Admission is only $3 and you'll get to see tractor pulls and farm equipment demonstrations.

The vendors have crafts, canned goods, and more available for purchase.

Cottonwood Station is the association's little town made up of antique buildings.

This is such a great old-fashioned fall festival near Topeka, KS that is so much fun for the whole family.
