One of the greatest heroes from the Bluegrass State is Muhammad Ali. Hailing from Louisville, the city was the chosen location for the Muhammad Ali Center. This monument to The Greatest gives an incredible look at the life and career of Ali while also allowing children to understand the importance of his life with plenty of interactive exhibits. From trying your hand at the speedbag and heavy bag to an up-close look at Ali’s life journey, the Muhammad Ali Center is an excellent family-friendly day trip in Kentucky that truly has something for everyone.

My family visited the center when I was young, and I made a second visit only last year, and both visits proved to be an excellent way to spend an afternoon. There is plenty of historical subject matter to keep the adult members of your crew engaged while the kids take on the exhibits, making the Muhammad Ali Center a fantastic family-friendly day trip in Kentucky.
