In our beautiful state of Kentucky, many of our biggest parks like Cumberland Falls State Resort Park and Pine Mountain State Park tend to get the most attention. We decided it’s time to bring attention to one of the lesser-known parks that is absolutely worth taking a day trip to explore. Welcome to Kincaid Lake State Park in Kentucky, a hidden gem with so much to see and do.
Kincaid Lake State Park is a wonderful place to bring the family and spend an entire day or weekend enjoying the beauty of the place as well as all the fun activities that await.
If you’re looking to cool off during the summer months, there is Kincaid Lake which is a great place for fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming. You can catch sunfish, bluegill, crappie, and catfish and there are paddle boats and kayaks available to rent. Plus, there’s a large, clean swimming pool to splash around in.
You’ll find a fun playground for the kids and picnic tables both covered and uncovered so you can enjoy your picnic in any weather. There are grills available and restrooms nearby.
The park is filled with abundant, lush forest land where you can see all kinds of wildlife, enjoy birding, and there are hiking trails if you’d like to explore it further and really get out in nature.
If you’d like to stay for a weekend, there are 84 campsites for tent and RV camping with electric and water hookups, and some have firepits. There’s a grocery and a central service building with showers and restrooms available so that you can camp in comfort.
This gorgeous park has it all, including basketball and tennis courts. If you want to get out into nature and also have all the modern amenities available, this is the perfect place to strike that balance. It is well worth driving across the state to visit this fantastic park.
