Louisianians love to throw a festival, that’s for sure. If you’re looking for something to do that’s got a small-town vibe to it, look no further than the Blackpot Festival. 2023 marks its 17th year, and this is one festival in Louisiana that you won’t want to miss.

Folks from all over Cajun Country come together to celebrate our unique Cajun heritage with a weekend filled with music, dancing, and of course, food. Here’s what you need to know:

Blackpot Festival takes place October 27-28, 2023 at Vermilionville in Lafayette.

Vermilionville is a 23-acre historic park/living history museum that focuses on what life was like for early Acadians. Seems like the perfect place for a festival celebrating Cajun culture, right?

Blackpot Camp is the show before the show. Campers take over Lakeview Park & Beach in nearby Eunice from October 22-27, 2023.
Blackpot Camp is full of classes and workshops where you can learn everything from music to cooking, and even a few Cajun dances.
