Before Word Gets Out, Visit One Of Louisiana's Newest Urban Parks
If you live around the Lafayette area, then you’ve heard about Moncus Park. One of the newer parks in Louisiana, this non-profit park is always up to something new. It’s one of my favorite urban parks in the Pelican State, and I think you’ll absolutely love spending an afternoon here. Let’s check it out:

When the University announced plans to allow for commercial development on the farm, a “save the horse farm” campaign was launched in the hopes of preserving the space and turning it into a community park, rather than commercial buildings. Seven years later, it worked! The Lafayette Central Park, Inc. was formed in 2013 to build the park, and as they say, the rest is history!

The inclusive playground includes separate areas for younger and older kids, plus a massive treehouse! The treehouse is made of reclaimed red cypress and also has an ADA-accessible ramp, so kids of all abilities can enjoy it.

Check out a list of vendors and some out!

There is already a small dog park, and as of September 2023, they've broken ground on designing a separate space for the big dogs!
These pups can't wait!

It’s easy to see why this is one of the best parks in Louisiana, but I’ll let you be the judge! Visit the Moncus Park website for more information, and be sure to follow Moncus Park on Facebook so you never miss out on any upcoming events or announcements.
If you’re planning a road trip to visit this park, be sure to pack some epic snacks for the ride!
