When you think of Maine mountain views, you probably don’t think of New Hampshire’s Mount Washington, but with the two states touching, it’s easy to see such a ginormous mountain from several parts of Maine. One of our favorite spots is Burnt Meadow Mountain Trail which has a view of Mount Washington that’s unparalleled.
Burnt Meadow Mountain Trail is located near Brownfield, Maine.
Brownfield is a small town located in Oxford County. It's home to approximately 1,631 people and it is full of outdoor activities because of the lakes, ponds, and mountains that surround it.
The Burnt Meadow Mountain Trail has so much to see and different terrain to explore.
However, it's important to know that this 3.8-mile loop trail is considered challenging and should be hiked with caution. Depending on the route you choose, you'll be faced with different terrain. The Blue Trail has more aggressive climbing through woods and up rock faces, while the Yellow Trail is more gradual and comes with a lovely brook.

Both trails that take you up Burnt Meadow Mountain have an array of wildlife and wildflowers.
Many people hike this mountain, not for the view but for the abundant wildflowers. There are also a lot of animals that call the mountain home such as foxes, deer, and even bears.
The best time to hike the mountain is between May and October.
Many people opt to go in the fall to see the beautiful foliage from above. Also, this is a dog-friendly trail, but make sure you keep your pet on a leash.
The unobstructed view of Mount Washington from the top of Burnt Meadow Mountain is stunning.
However, be sure to go on a sunny day or fog can block your view quite a bit. Even when it's warm, it's very possible you'll still see snow on Mount Washington.
Sunrise hikes are also exceptionally beautiful on Burnt Meadow Mountain Trail.
Of course, it's essential to be extra careful hiking before sunrise or after sunset. But as long as you take it slow and dress accordingly, the zen experience will be worth it.
