As the weather turns cooler, my body starts to crave rich, hearty foods. I’m talking about meals like Yankee pot roast, lobster pie, and chicken, broccoli & ziti. Comfort foods like these have a special way of warming my heart as well as my soul. Fortunately, I do not need to drive far out to the country to find a great homestyle restaurant. The Century House in Peabody is forever my go-to for delicious homemade meals.
The iconic Century House restaurant is located on Route 114 on the Danvers/Peabody line.
The friendly wait staff (including many who have been working at the restaurant for decades), will make you feel like family while you enjoy your meal in the inviting dining room or cozy pub.
The food at Century House is consistently good and the portions are plentiful. There is something for everyone in your party.
The onsite Epicurean Shoppe features tons of homemade meals, desserts, salads, and dips. Beer and wine are also available for purchase. All food and drinks can be pre-ordered on the Century House Epicurean Shoppe website.
Have you enjoyed a meal at the Century House? If so, please tell us about your experience. Century House restaurant is located only a few miles from the spooky city of Salem. While you are in the area, consider taking a fun guided walking tour of the Witch City.
More information about this delicious restaurant can be found on the Century House website and the Century House Facebook page. If you are looking to try out even more great American food, I suggest taking a drive to Southern Proper in Boston and the Liberty Tavern in Quincy.
