Out of all 25 state parks in Mississippi, few can compare to Hugh White State Park. Often overshadowed by larger state parks like Tishomingo, Paul B Johnson State Park and Buccaneer State Park, Hugh White State Park offers a chance to escape to a remote destination where you can kick back and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. It’s one of my favorite state parks in Mississippi, and I hope you’ll enjoy it too!
Just driving into Hugh White State Park will make you feel like you’re a million miles away from everything.
You’ll find it in Grenada, Mississippi, which has a population just north of 13,000. So while it may not be a small town, it’s easy to feel like a secluded escape when you come to the park.
Nestled along Grenada Lake, this scenic state park attracts folks from all over, especially those interested in doing a little fishing or spending a day out on the water.
This short and sweet loop trail clocks in at about half a mile, and though it's name is "Little Mountain Trail," there's less than 200 feet of elevation gain, so it's nothing super crazy.
Of course, nothing beats sinking your toes in the sand and catching a sunset over the lake.
