Throughout Montana, there are certainly a variety of ways to get close to nature. In fact, I’d argue that there’s no better state in the country for mountain breezes, solitude, and adventure. The only problem? We’re not the only people who know this to be true about the Treasure State. Over the years, the state has seen a steady increase in tourism and while we love this for the local economy, it can make some of our favorite trails a bit busier than they used to be. If you’re feeling this, it might be time to explore new routes. This lesser-known trail in Montana isn’t far from the center of Bozeman and it offers lots of beauty.

The Hood Creek Trail can be accessed any time of year, but other hikers say it’s best from May through October. You can learn more about the Hood Creek Trail by visiting AllTrails. This 4.2-mile hike can be completed in just a few hours, but if you’d like to stick around Bozeman to check out additional routes and local restaurants, we recommend booking a vacation rental to make it a long weekend.

And, after enjoying this lesser-known trail in Montana, you might want to check out a nearby beginner-level hike that’s just as beautiful as the Hood Creek Trail.
