Panaca, Nevada is a small town in eastern Nevada that’s almost in Utah. The population of this small town is just around 1,000 residents. It was originally founded in 1857 as a Mormon settlement by scouts sent out by Bringham Young himself. As a result, it was not only the first permanent settlement by European Americans in southern Nevada, but it’s one of few places in the state where gambling is illegal, and it’s the only municipality in the state where alcohol is not sold.
There are a number of historical buildings in Panaca and visitors come to this tiny rural town to enjoy its warm springs and its striking rock formations in nearby Cathedral Gorge State Park. It’s a lovely place for a short getaway!
This town is quite small but it still has a number of small businesses to serve the people who live there. Panaca Market is the center of the action in town on Main Street.
Of course, there's also a post office, an elementary school, a middle school, a high school, and two parks. There's also a fire department and the Lincoln County Fairgrounds are here, too.
Cathedral Gorge State Park is the biggest draw for tourism in the area. It covers almost 1,800 acres and it's full of striking rock formations like this one.
Panaca, Nevada is a charming small and rural town that you’re going to love. The people are friendly, and there are actually quite a few fun things to do for a town of this small size. It’s the perfect place to go if you really want to get away from it all. Have a great trip!
