The Gourmet Room is located in Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino, right on the banks of the beautiful Colorado River.
The restaurant’s entrance looks very much like any other hotel restaurant, not so much as hinting at the very special dining experience beyond the wooden doors.
Offering an exceptional selection of French, Italian, and Steakhouse cuisine, The Gourmet Room is Laughlin’s finest dining experience on the water. The gorgeous dining room with its deep red velvet seating, ornate ceiling, and pretty chandeliers features clear, wide views of the river and an atmosphere of relaxed elegance.
Seafood and traditional Italian fare come together with delicate ravioli pasta stuffed with fresh succulent lobster and smothered in a rich, creamy crab sauce.
If you are a serious seafood lover and in the mood for something a little spicy, customers rave about the Seafood Fry Diavolo, with shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, and Langostinos in a spicy marinara sauce over a bed of linguini.
If you are not quite ready for dinner, the stunning lounge at The Gourmet Room is a perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail and some conversation and to take in those awesome views.
It’s difficult to decide which view is better - the afternoon with the crystal blue water and the boats passing by or the night with the city lights on the opposite bank reflecting in the water.
If it were up to me, I would say the best experience is to come while the sun is up and linger until the lights come up. What a great excuse to order dessert!
