Fall has just begun here in New Jersey, and everyone is looking forward to the fall festivals and changing colors. But for me, at least, I start to think about winter as soon as the weather changes. There’s no question that winter requires more prep than any other season. It’s important to have all the supplies – warm winter clothes, a sturdy snow shovel, and rock salt to fend off those slushy days that freeze overnight. Of course, there’s one big x-factor – exactly what kind of winter will it be? The weather is notoriously hard to predict, but the Farmer’s Almanac is widely considered to be the gold standard in the field. This centuries-old institution has come out with its 2023-2024 winter predictions for New Jersey, so read on and discover what Old Man Winter has in store for us!

Winter is only a few months away for New Jersey, and the Farmer's Almanac's words for the season are "Frosty, Flakey, and Slushy".

The entire country is expected to have a colder winter than last year thanks to the effects of El Nino. And unlike last year, it's expected to bring a good amount of snow with it.

A larger winter storm is expected to hit the Northeast and New England in the second week of February, bringing snowfall and cold rain. A smaller storm may hit the area during the first week of March before Spring arrives.
