New York has its own club owned by a rock star, but it’s not in Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens. It’s in Pawling, a town near the southern tip of the state with a population of less than 10,000. Daryl’s House Club was started by the legendary Daryl Hall, who you probably know as a member of the band and Rock and Rolll Hall of Fame inductees Hall & Oats.
The club was formally known as the Towne Crier. Its refurbishing was supervised by Hall, who has serious experience restoring historic homes—he even had his own show, "Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall," on the DIY Network. The venue has also served as the home for Hall’s TV show “Live from Daryl’s House.”
The venue was remolded in a similar style to Hall’s former 1770s home in Millerton, New York. “It’s a very Early American, New England-y kind of vibe,” Hall said.
Then there’s the menu, which was overseen by Hall and the chef Elena Angelides. There’s steaks, seafood, pasta and sandwiches. Of course, there is a great burger.
