There’s no better time than fall to take a hike around Jenkinson Lake in Sly Park Recreation Area. This Northern California fall hike is a fairly easy trek, and oh-so-beautiful in autumn! At 3,560 feet, Jenkinson Lake experiences all four seasons, and fall just might be the most spectacular. Whether you’re an avid hiker or a leisurely walker, you’ll love this tree-covered trail that turns all shades of orange in the fall.
The Jenkinson Lake loop is an 8.5-mile trail that takes a little more than three hours to complete.
Please note that dogs are not permitted in the lake or its tributaries to protect the local ecosystem. There is a fee to access this trail and the day use area, so be prepared with cash or card.
