Here is a fun adventure for beer enthusiasts! If you’re on the hunt for a weekend road trip that’s brimming fun, look no further than this Northern California brewery trail. This adventure is part beer tasting and part scenic escapade. Sip a variety of beers at these Bay Area breweries.
For this tour we start in Livermore and work our way north to Concord.
If you follow this Northern California brewery trail you'll hit five breweries and explore the sunny East Bay. The first brewery on this trail doesn't open until noon, leaving you time to explore Livermore. Try going on a
guided hike or visit some
farm animals for a few hours.
1. Altamont Beer Works– Livermore
The first stop is Altamont Beer Works. This craft brewery serves 30 rotating beers on tap.
This 3,500 square-foot-space is great for a group.

Altamont Beer Works opens at noon, perfect timing for lunch and a beer. In addition to locally-made brews, this brewery also has on-site food trucks and welcomes outside food.
2. Shadow Puppet Brewing Company– Livermore
This second Livermore brewery looks like an office building from the outside, but inside you'll find an upscale and comfortable atmosphere with award-winning beers on tap.
This family-owned brewery has a large tasting menu that includes limited releases, nitros, porters and stouts, plus some excellent IPAs.

The brewery has four hour "happy hours" most days. They also regularly have food vendors visit, so you can pair delicious food with your beers.
3. Danville Brewing Company– Danville
If you haven't had any food yet on this beer trail, you might want to have a meal with your beer at Danville Brewing Company.
Located in historic Danville, this brewery makes incredible craft beers and has a full menu.

The helpful staff will help you choose a good beer that matches your preferences. But you really can't go wrong here.
Danville Brewing Company is a three-time Great American Beer Festival winner. Take your time at this stop to enjoy a burger, sandwich, or an appetizer or two, such as their housemade pretzel bites or their ahi nachos.
4. Fieldwork Brewing Company– San Ramon
This popular brewery has eight Northern California locations. The San Ramon locations boasts outdoor seating and an ever-changing tap list.
Located in San Ramon City Center, Fieldwork Brewing Company is a great place to enjoy a flight or a single beer.

If you try something you like,
this brewery offers to-go beer in 16 ounce cans, growlers, and 32 ounce crawlers. We love that they offer small "taster" glasses for people who want more of a small sample than a full beer.
5. Epidemic Ales– Concord
For the last brewery on our Northern California beer trail, we've selected this ultra cool brewery and tap room in Concord.
Sip the final brews of the day at this brewery and taproom located inside of a warehouse building.
Epidemic Ales, 150 Mason Cir J, Concord, CA 94520, USA
The location makes
this brewery feel like a hidden gem. You'll be pleasantly surprised when you walk into this fun space, full of tables, flat screen TVs, and some really funky artwork. Choose from one of the beers on tap, or a flight of several of them.
Whether you’re a seasoned beer connoisseur or just someone who loves a good time, get a group together on a beer tasting adventure . Be sure to choose someone to be your designated driver. Tell us, have you visited any of these breweries?
