There's a brand-new trail in the Cleveland Metroparks that's calling your name.

Tucked away in Euclid Creek Reservation, Eastern Ledge Trail was first unveiled to the public in October of 2022.

At roughly a mile in length, Eastern Ledge Trail is an easy hike that mixes natural and paved walkways.

Perhaps the most dazzling feature is the trail's sparkling new suspension bridge.

The suspension bridge connects the Welsh Woods Picnic Area with the other side of the gorge, allowing hikers to pass over the stunning waters of Euclid Creek.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg, as there's something even more stunning that awaits visitors... a gorgeous overlook!

At more than 130 feet above Euclid Creek, this spot is the highest overlook in the entirety of the Cleveland Metroparks.

The newly built trail (which you can check out on a Cleveland Metroparks map for a bird's-eye view) is part of newly acquired land in the park.

The paved portion of the trail is ADA-accessible, too, so this is a hike every Clevelander can take advantage of.

This is especially true in the autumn months... this hike is arguably the best place in the Cleveland Metroparks to view fall colors!

After all... who could argue with that view?!

And don't worry if you miss the fall colors this year... the park is stunning in every season, so there's always beauty awaiting you.

You've just stumbled upon one of the coolest haunted attractions in Ohio, and it's located just about an hour and a half away from home.

This is Haunted Hydro, an authentic hydroelectric power plant built in 1911.

Once spooky season rolls around, things get creepy here.

The age of the spooky old building is evident, and it adds to the ambiance.

This annual attraction opens in late September and operates on Friday and Saturday nights in October, plus the last two Sundays of the month and Halloween.

Rest assured, the monsters inside this spooky attraction won't touch you... unless you want them.

You can also select a Fast Pass or Front of the Line Pass if you're hoping to save a bit of time.

The experience is spread out across a vast space, so budget a bit of time for your visit. You could spend at least 20 to 30 minutes walking around!

If you're hoping to go to the Haunted Hydro attraction with friends, be sure to plan accordingly.

At just about 80 minutes away from home, this is one road trip you'll want to take this October.

However, you might need to put on a brave face to get through this top-rated Halloween attraction...

October just got so much spookier!

Since 1878, Beckwith Orchards has remained family owned and operated.

Fruit season begins around late July, and some apple species are harvested through November.

Once fall comes, Beckwith Orchards' apple season begins, bringing varieties like McIntosh, Cortland, Golden Delicious, and Granny Smith.

But apples are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to fall offerings.

In addition to mums, bales of hay, and cornstalks, there's an entire on-site farm store to explore.

Of course, decor is also a key component of fall at Beckwith Orchards.

And though it's not far at all from Cleveland, the views at and around the orchard sometimes feel otherworldly.

They show a different side of the Northeast Ohio landscape than Cleveland parks do, and one of the very best attractions is Penitentiary Glen Reservation. At Penitentiary Glen Reservation, autumnal hues seem to explode from the wide variety of trees.

However, there's something unusual about the sounds of this park... every so often, something not quite like birdsong breaks through the sounds of nature.

Of course, the Lake Shore Live Steamers now have a permanent track in Penitentiary Glen Reservation.

Each year, circa 15 planned runs take place... and this train ride isn't quite like you might expect!

One of the most coveted events on the Lake Shore Live Steamers schedule is their annual fall run in October, which is paired with Halloween vibes and decorations to make the most unique experience imaginable.

There's also a public event on the first Sunday in October that you can attend, and it's truly an experience to remember.

When there's a hidden adventure in the Cleveland Metroparks, you know you're in for a treat.

Buttermilk Falls is one of the Cleveland Metroparks' most charming treasures, and it's a beloved picture spot for many hikers.

Here, water on its way to the mighty Chagrin River carves through the reservation. It's stunning in the fall!

The water dances across chunked shale, sharing a tiny bit of geological history to sharp-eyed visitors.

The hike to the waterfall is about 0.4-mile in length, so the whole journey there and back is under a mile.

There's more to see in North Chagrin Reservation, though, so budget a bit of extra time to explore the park!

You'll find a few bodies of water in the park, including wetlands and the striking Oxbow Lagoons.

Plus, you'll find a slew of wildlife to keep you company during your visit.

If you can manage to catch the sunset, budget a bit of time for that, too. It's a real treat!

Many of the loveliest hidden gems in the Cleveland Metroparks can be found in North Chagrin Reservation.

Clevelanders are no strangers to snow, and that's good news... the upcoming season is going to be a snowy one, according to the Farmers' Almanac.
