If you've ever wanted to hop aboard the Hogwarts Express to enter the wizarding world of Harry Potter, you're not alone! There's a reason these books have earned a permanent spot in pop culture, because, really, we could all use a little more magic in our lives.
While we can't exactly escape to Hogwarts here in Ohio, we can experience some of the magic this fall with the Henry Potter & The Vanishing murder mystery.
The premise of this murder mystery is delightfully fun: Henry Potter is now an Auror at Hogwarts and a Defense Against Dark Arts teacher. But, as the new semester begins, a few of the other instructors begin vanishing and its up to Henry to solve the mystery and potential murder.
Purchase tickets for dinner and the mystery show for $60/person, but I suggest *really* getting to the spirit of things by reserving a cabin or lodge room.
Because, of all the Ohio State Parks that could host such an event, Shawnee State Park is the perfect choice. Its lodge is incredibly charming and, with its vaulted ceilings and ornate woodwork, definitely has a Great Hall vibe to it!
Of course, you shouldn't need any convincing to visit Shawnee State Park in the autumn. The fall foliage and sublime sunsets at Ohio’s Little Smokies are certainly worth the trip alone.
