If you’re a fan of fish and chips, you probably know that finding the perfect combination of crispy, golden batter and tender, flaky fish can be a true culinary quest. But what if we told you that there’s a food truck in Oklahoma that’s been attracting long lines of eager customers, all in search of the ultimate fish and chips experience? Allow us to introduce you to On the Hook Fish and Chips, a traveling food truck sensation that’s been making waves across the plains and mountain west, and there’s a good reason why it always draws a crowd.
On the Hook keeps their customers in the loop with a monthly calendar, so make sure to check their website for the most up-to-date Oklahoma schedule. During my September 2023 visit, I had the delightful opportunity to savor their mouthwatering offerings in the bustling parking lot of the Tractor Supply Store, conveniently located off Kenosha St. in Broken Arrow.
On the Hook Fish and Chips was born from the creative minds of two young University of Wyoming engineering students, Ocean Andrew and Hunter Anderson, back in May 2016. What began as a small venture has now blossomed into a multi-truck enterprise serving hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers across states like Oklahoma.
The heart and soul of On the Hook's menu is their line-caught wild Alaskan cod fish and chips. It all starts with the highest quality cod sourced from the pristine waters of Alaska.
But what sets their cod apart is the method of catching it – hook and line. Each fish is individually brought aboard, immediately headed, gutted, and flash-frozen, ensuring that every bite is bursting with fresh-caught quality and tenderness.
On the Hook takes their fish to the next level with a homemade beer batter that's the result of months of experimentation by their founders. This special batter gives their fish a delightful crunch and flavor that's simply unmatched.
To make things even more exciting, they've crafted signature dipping sauces to accompany each meal, creating a symphony of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds.
With around 1,500 pounds of fresh cod arriving from Dutch Harbor, Alaska, every week, On the Hook ensures that their product is nothing short of exceptional. Don't miss the chance to experience one of the best food trucks in Oklahoma...click the link below to view the upcoming Oklahoma schedule.
