When the weather starts to cool and the leaves start to change colors, we gather for some fun fall festivals in Oregon to enjoy the bounty of the harvest, great music, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and all sorts of festive entertainment and activities. We also like to keep things weird and have some silliness along the way. Fall in Oregon is a special time and we’ve found the 10 best fall festivals in Oregon that will put you in the autumnal spirit.

As one of the best fall festivals near Portland, this annual festival has a huge corn maze on Sauvie Island and takes place from September 3 until October 31. This year marks its 25th Anniversary, so it’ll be an extra special year at the Pumpkin Patch.

Monster trucks are the main draw at this fall festival near Salem. Watch gargantuan trucks doing amazing feats, take a Monster Jeep Ride, enjoy live music and comedy, take in a parade, enjoy tasty food and drinks, and take part in the Fun Run! The Sublimity Harvest Festival runs from September 8 to September 10.

5 N Garfield St, Mt Angel, OR 97362, USA
If you’re ready to have a Bavarian blast, head to the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest between September 14 and September 17. Enjoy polka music, imbibe German brews at the various Biergartens, take part in Street Dances and the Volkswalk, enjoy the adorable Wiener Dog Races, and try your hand at the Oktoberfest Olympics.

If you want to see something magical and marvelous, go to the coast and see colorful whales and squid floating through the air in the form of kites at the Lincoln City Fall Kite Festival on September 23 and 24. Speedy Rokkaku kites join the aerial menagerie and you’ll see kites of every shape and color imaginable. There are also demonstrations so you can learn how to make your own kites!

Musicians of every genre from all over the state come to the Silverton Sidewalk Shindig each year to set up on the sidewalk and play for the public. Food and arts and crafts vendors are on display and there’s a friendly, fun, community feel to this event which takes place on October 7.

The Hood River Valley Harvest Fest in Hood River is just an hour from Portland and takes place October 13 to 15. You’ll find lively music, a bountiful farmers market, arts and crafts, yummy food, intricate pumpkin carving, and pumpkins so massive that they must be hauled in on a flatbed truck!

For some silly fun, head to Tualatin on October 22 to the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta, where actual giant pumpkins are hollowed out into canoes and costumed contestants try to paddle their way to victory.
