Chin's Kitchen in Portland has a long and storied history. It was opened by the Chin family in 1949. It was the first Chinese food in Portland and it was even available by delivery.
The daughter of the founders, Betty Jean Lee, ran the restaurant for many decades. She was also a very important figure in Portland's Chinese-American community throughout her life. She died in 2022. Before she passed away, she sold the restaurant to Chang Feng (Wendy) and Change Li (Cindy) from Harbin, China in 2017.
