Spending time near, on, and in the water, especially during the summer, is just what we do in Rhode Island. That’s probably why so many of our adventures involve the water in some way. When you’re mulling over what to do for your next summer adventure, why not set off on a short and sweet pond trail in Chepachet, Rhode Island that promises plenty of natural beauty and even the chance to spot local wildlife? The Peck Pond Loop is an ideal summer adventure.
Although it's simply breathtaking in each season, the Peck Pond Loop Trail offers an idyllic summer adventure, especially if you don't have a lot of time.
The remote trail tends to be quiet, so you might not run into anyone, except local wildlife, during your visit.
Meandering just 1.3 miles through Pulaski State Park and Recreational Area, Peck Pond Loop Trail scores an easy rating, making it a family-friendly adventure. You can even bring your pup along.
You might face a few challenges - like tree roots - along the way, so take care when hiking.

A word of warning, though. Summertime means the bugs are out in full force, so lather on the bug spray, and bring plenty with you, too. If you can handle the bugginess, you're sure to have fun.
While you can probably complete the trail in less than half an hour, you might want to take it slow, so you can soak up the beauty, including the tiny cascades you'll pass.
While you'll definitely want to follow this pretty path during the summer, make plans to return to view the fall foliage. You can also go cross-country skiing along the trail after it snows.
