Colorful Kite Festival In Newport, Rhode Island

Remember how magical it was to fly a kite as a kid? To launch it into the air, watch it soar, and run as fast as we could while holding the string oh-so-tight? Those were the days, weren’t they? Now we can channel our inner child when we visit the Newport Kite Festival, an epic summer festival in Newport, Rhode Island that’s coming up this weekend.

Feel like a kid again at the Newport Kite Festival, slated for July 8-9, 2023 at Brenton Point State Park in Newport. Hours run from noon to 5 p.m. on both days.

A popular annual event, the Newport Kite Festival is a free, family-friendly event with a full menu of events. Be sure to bring your own kite along, too, so you can watch it soar.

The kite display, one of the highlights of the festival, will feature handmade, inflatable, and one-of-a-kind kites as they fly across the sky.

During the weekend, you can also join hands-on workshops, buy and fly your own kite, and dig into some tasty food. The kids can also gather for a candy drop.

A variety of food vendors, including Sunset Beach Oysters and Feed the Cheeks, will be on hand for the two-day event.

It's an event to remember every year, and 2023 will be no exception!
