This haunted Rhode Island journey spans just 73 miles with nearly two hours of drive time, not including the time you’ll spend at each destination. You could probably complete it in a single day or, if you’ve got the time, make a weekend of it. Whatever you do, have fun!
Let's start our haunted journey at the Conjuring House. Its eerie history dates back to the early 1800s when a woman was said to have stabbed a child and then later killed herself. Some believe her spirit still remains in the home. A broom moving on its own and strange smells are just a few of the odd occurrences in the home. 2. Chestnut Hill Cemetery – Exeter

Chances are pretty good that if you stroll through Chestnut Hill Cemetery you might see a ghost. A young girl named Mercy is said to roam the cemetery, more than a century after she died of tuberculosis. Too cold to bury her body, her remains were stored outdoors until the ground thawed. Because her body was frozen, it did not decompose, which locals took as a sign that she was a vampire. Part of her body was burned, and the remains were buried. 3. Tower Hill Road – North Kingstown

It probably comes as little surprise that the oldest tavern in Rhode Island is also teeming with the paranormal. Dig into a delicious meal, but don't be surprised if it comes with some strange occurrences. Visitors tell of a man in Colonial garb hanging out by the fireplace, and a woman wandering aimlessly. 6. Brenton Point State Park – Newport

Then, after a bit of kite flying, start exploring the abandoned ruins of a former mansion that's said to be haunted. By who? No one really knows. However, it's not uncommon to hear voices when no one's there or to hear horses coming toward you. Turn around. You're all alone.
