There are so many successful small businesses in Southern California, each with a story and something different to offer that sets them apart. Combining the owner’s love of fashion, food, culture, and well, the color pink, this unique taco spot in Los Angeles is a rising star that has locals tickled pink.
This small business started with farmers markets and pop-ups in 2019, launched as a taco truck - yes, a pink truck - in 2021, and opened its official storefront in February 2023. It has earned itself a reputation and loyal following in Los Angeles.
Every corner of Pink and Boujee, from the storefront to the to-go boxes oozes what the website calls “Pink Culture,” which has definitely become a thing in L.A. You know from the first moment why the slogan is “Not Your Basic Taqueria!”
Owner Yesenia Castro created this place because she wanted to showcase her mother’s traditional cooking with her own influences, the biggest of which is this restaurant’s signature color.
The owner and her pink venture have been featured on both Spanish and English TV news specials as well as radio.
If you can’t stand the sight of pink, I have to tell you, you may want to take your food to go because there is almost nothing about this place that isn’t pink! I would say don’t come, but you would be missing out on some great flavor.
This Mexican-American eatery has become famous for its flavorful Pink Tacos, made with handmade pink tortillas and high-quality meats, and deliciously fresh Aguas Frescas.
Pink tortillas are just the beginning. Whether your pink brunch dreams are sweet or savory, they are fulfilled here, including pink nachos, Pink-aquiles, pink pancakes, and even pink syrup.
Don’t let the color make you think the food is all flash and no substance. Freshly prepared and full of flavor describes everything on the menu. And the vibrant pink on your plate got there naturally, coming from dragonfruit and beets, not chemical dyes.
