I find it kind of funny that axe throwing has become such a huge success. It all started when a couple of guys hanging out in a cabin in Toronto started throwing axes at a stump. You never know when a simple way to pass the time might make it, and somehow, axe throwing become somewhat of an overnight success. This sport has now left the Canadian woods and made its way into the hometowns and hearts of us Americans. After all, there is nothing quite as invigorating as chucking an axe at a board and feeling the satisfying thud into the target! If you haven’t gone axe throwing yet, head over to Gatlinburg Axe House for a super fun time on your next Smoky Mountain adventure.

Have you ever gone axe-throwing before? Let us know your favorite axe-throwing memory in the comments below, and make your way to the Gatlinburg Axe House to make more lasting memories. From the moment that axe leaves your hands and creates a satisfying thud on the wooden board, you will be hooked. Pro tip: next door is a classic Gatlinburg tradition that has been around for decades, Fannie Farkles. Make sure you don’t leave the area without at least getting a foot-long corndog! Axe throwing works up quite an appetite.
