Texas weather is notoriously unpredictable – especially in the winter. But thanks to the Farmers’ Almanac’s 2023-2024 winter predictions, we have some idea of what to expect. Unlike last year, it looks like we’ll have to pull out our thickest coats for this upcoming season. Let’s just hope we don’t have a repeat of February 2021…
I hope y'all are ready to bundle up! Most of the nation experienced a warm winter last year, but the Farmers' Almanac predictions for the upcoming season are essentially the polar (pun intended) opposite - at least for the South Central U.S.
While only Mother Nature knows exactly when the coldest temperatures will arrive, the winter predictions for Texas forecast unseasonably chilly weather in January and February.
Mid-January could bring some of the most volatile conditions, with extreme cold and storms pummeling the Lone Star State. A major winter storm - such as the one we experienced in February 2021 - can't be ruled out.
With such a brutal winter on the horizon, you're probably already wondering when spring will arrive. Unfortunately, March is not expected to go out without a fight, as stormy conditions are forecast nationwide.
Since we can't change the weather, we might as well make the most of it. So make plans to cozy up on the couch with a warm beverage, watch your favorite holiday movies, and maybe even build a snowman or two.
