When it comes to award-winning restaurants in Texas, you’ll be hard-pressed to find one that compares to Killen’s Steakhouse. This Pearland institution has been showered with praise ever since it opened nearly two decades ago, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting Killen’s to sample its succulent steaks, consider this your sign.
If you want more Texas restaurants, make sure to sign up for our weekly dining newsletter. Every Thursday, a new eatery to try in the Lone Star State will be delivered straight to your email. Yum!
With locations in both Pearland and The Woodlands, Killen's Steakhouse is among the most decorated restaurants of its kind in Texas, having won numerous accolades over the years - and for good reason.
The restaurant was opened in 2006 by esteemed chef Ronnie Killen, whose culinary journey has taken him everywhere from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in London to being a finalist for the position of Executive Chef at the White House.
When you step inside either location, the marriage of upscale décor and old-world charm will instantly whisk you back to the swanky steakhouses of the 1900s.

In addition to indoor seating, both Killen's restaurants have spacious outdoor patios with string lights. There's no place else to be during happy hour!
When it comes to the menu, steak is - of course - the star of the show. Patrons have over a dozen options to choose from, so whether you prefer filet mignon, ribeye, or Japanese A5 Wagyu straight from the Kagoshima Prefecture, there's something for everyone.
Both wet and dry-aged steaks are available, and if you're feeling a bit indecisive, you can add an accoutrement of lobster oscar, foie gras, or au poivre for an extra fee.
Backing things up just a bit, the appetizers at Killen's are also not to be missed. From freshly shucked East Coast oysters to Korean BBQ-marinated wagyu skewers, there are a variety of options that promise to start your meal off on a good note.
If you aren't feeling steak, the restaurant has plenty of alternatives. Whether you opt for a USDA Prime chicken-fried steak, seared ahi tuna, or beef wellington, you can rest assured that nobody leaves the table hungry.
Compliment your meal with some broccoli and cheese risotto or Brussels sprouts, then end on a sweet note with a decadent treat such as this crème brûlée bread pudding with apple sauce.
Killen's is more than just a steakhouse; it's also a bar with a wide range of handcrafted cocktails and draft beers. Many of the beers are Texas-made, so it's a great opportunity to support local.
Visit the Killen’s website or the Killen’s Facebook page for more information, such as current hours of operation and a full menu.
