If you grew up in Texas, you’ve probably eaten at The Black-eyed Pea at least once. My hometown had one, and my parents would take us there for dinner all the time; those are some of my most cherished memories. I was deeply saddened to see Black-eyed Peas all over not just Texas, but the entire country start to close left and right, and eventually, I thought there were none left – but I was wrong. There is still a Black-eyed Pea restaurant in Arlington, Texas, and it’s worth visiting for the nostalgia factor alone (but the food is also incredible).
