The Charming Small Town in Utah That's Perfect For A Fall Day Trip
When fall arrives, there is nothing better than getting out and enjoying the cooler weather, fall foliage, and pumpkin patches. But I also love exploring the small towns and cities that dot our great state. Here in Utah, there are many charming towns that are perfect for a fall day trip but one that often gets overlooked is Mapleton. Located approximately 10 miles southeast of Provo, this town is beautiful and one you’ll never regret visiting.

You may also want to pack a picnic and enjoy some fresh air at one of the town's city parks. I love to visit Mapleton City Park, located at the corner of Maple and Main Streets. Here, you’ll find a variety of amenities including two pavilions, a gazebo, playground, sand volleyball court, and ball fields. This is also home to Mapleton’s Historic Square.

This is a paved trail for non-motorized use and is beautiful any time of the year, particularly during the fall months.

This hike is moderate in difficulty and is more than 6 miles long, but it offers incredible leaf-peeping opportunities.

Not only will you walk among scarecrows at this Mapleton event, but there are many other family-friendly activities and tasty food as well.

Check out our list of even more fall day trip destinations and if you plan to turn your day trip into an overnight adventure, book a cozy vacation rental in Mapleton.
