Ready for some spooky fun this Halloween season? As my favorite time of year, I’m always on the hunt for fun fall festivities to take my kids to. A few years ago, I took my son to the Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival in Scottsdale, and it was everything we dreamed of and more. This year’s festival will be held October 27-29, 2023, and tickets are already on sale.
For the 11th year, Salt River Fields in Scottsdale will come alive at night with the magically spooky glow of giant hot air balloons. It will be held from October 27-29, 2023 from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. each night.
In addition to the glow of balloons scattered throughout the fields, there will be trick-or-treating at many of the balloons, a costume contest (come dressed up!), a kids play area with over 30 inflatables, local food vendors, tethered balloon rides, and more.
Kids will ooh and aah over the colors of the balloons as well as the character balloons. Believe me, they will be begging you to come back to this festival every year!
Limited parking is available at Salt River Fields. Another option is to park at the Plexus Headquarters located just north of Salt River Fields and to take the free shuttle to the festival.
Better yet, make it a weekend to remember by spending a night at Great Wolf Lodge. Located directly across the street from Salt River Fields, you can walk over to the event!
Ticket prices for the Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival are $17 per adult and $12 per child (ages 3-13) until August 31, 2023, and then they will increase. On the day of the event, prices will be set at $27 per adult and $22 per child (ages 3-13). Kids ages 2 and under are free!
