On a hot day, head to Franklin, Vermont for some relaxing fun in the sun on Lake Carmi. Situated along the Canadian border, Franklin spans about 40 miles and has under 2,000 residents. Lake Carmi, the fourth largest lake in the state, is located in the eastern part of Franklin, and the entrance to the state park is on the southeast side of the lake.
