Downtown Charlottesville is famous for its selection of restaurants. Just about every kind of cuisine you could hope for is in a two-mile square radius, so you’ll never find a shortage of selections. Even still, there are some places that tend to fly under the radar, unless of course, you’re in the know. One such place known as Continental Divide might be the best-kept secret in Virginia, and we’re thrilled to share it with you. Without further ado, here’s why a trip to this delicious Tex-Mex restaurant in Charlottesville belongs at the top of your bucket list.
Welcome to Continental Divide! You won't find a sign on this restaurant, but rather, the neon phrase "Get In Here."
The menu is somewhat limited compared to other Mexican restaurants; however, what you will find is exceptional quality and time-tested recipes. Enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas...you really can't go wrong with anything here.
If it's your first time in, be sure to order up a plate of the nachos, which are always a crowd-pleaser. Looking for something a little spicier? The Texas hummus should do.
Another fan favorite is the tuna tostada, a grilled sushi-grade tuna steak served with pureed black beans on a flour tortilla with goat cheese, red pepper coulis, and jalapeno glaze.
