Jones Run Falls Trail is similar to many of Shenandoah National Park's waterfall trails. It starts with a gradual yet steady descent, with a few rocky patches and a stream crossing or two. With this in mind, you'll want to be sure to wear sturdy shoes.
As you make your way through the old-growth forest, you'll want to keep your eyes out for fascinating rocks and boulders, such as the one photographed below.
There are two main waterfalls that you'll get to enjoy on this trail. Depending on recent rainfall, they may differ in size. But don't let that discourage you -- they're always beautiful!
Being so close to the stream also adds a magical element to the hike. If it's been raining lately, you may encounter some muddy patches along the trail.
