Today’s feature spot is a tiny rural community in Virginia known as Draper. Located in Pulaski County, this town has a population of just over 300. But what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in personality. Here’s more on why you’ll love stopping over in Draper for an afternoon.
Tucked away in southwestern Virginia amidst the mountains and the New River Valley awaits a tiny town with a lot of appeal: Draper.
A former rail town, Draper still retains much of its historic charm. For a glimpse of history and breathtaking natural beauty, be sure to visit the nearby New River Trail State Park.
"The Merc," as it's known locally, is built within the original post office. Exploring the building, you'll find that this history has been thoughtfully preserved.
On the menu, you'll find an incredible assortment of made-from-scratch sandwiches, mouthwatering burgers, and seasonal fare that is worlds beyond any typical road-stop food you might have imagined.
