The thermometer may still be reading summer some of the time, but fall is right around the corner (leaves in Almost Heaven typically peak in terms of color in late September in the highland areas, and continue through October as you move south or up into the extreme northern or eastern panhandles), and we’re here to help you be ready when it comes. There’s almost no better place in the world to enjoy the autumn season than West Virginia — and here’s just some of the proof. Make plans to hit at least one (if not all!) of these beautiful spots this fall when the leaves begin to turn!
There's no wrong spot to visit in the New River Gorge National Park come fall, but the Endless Wall Trail (which has been named one of the best trails in America) is especially worth seeing as the leaves begin to change.

3. Douglas Falls
