The story of Maple Ridge Orchard begins with a simple bite into a Honeycrisp apple in 2002. The experience was transformative and promoted a family to found Maple Ridge Orchard.
The orchard/donut destination is located in a scenic hilly area near Cashton and it has become a place for fall family fun. It’s an easy day trip from places like La Crosse, Eau Claire and Madison.
The orchard is a family affair – one family owns and staffs the farm. You may also encounter a very friendly golden retriever roaming the orchard, living its best life.
You can pick up a bag of apples in the cooler – that’s what I did – or enjoy a pick-your-own experience. You can stroll he orchard’s lush rows and select your own perfect bag of apples, one by one.
While you’re in the orchard, you’ll want to take in the beautiful Cashton area scenery. There’s an observation tower that offers panoramic views. Little ones can take a plunge down an adjacent slide- and sweet treats are waiting for you at the end.
Be sure to take time to explore the farm store. There are many products for sale, including jams and jellies, caramel apples, and turnovers. The real star of the show is the cider donuts. They are made fresh here with the orchard’s cider and they are so, so good – maybe even better than those crisp Honeycrisp apples!
