At approximately 8 miles round-trip, Jackson Hole's Wildflower Trail climbs multiple switchbacks and through dense woods up the steep, rocky mountain face. There are around 3,000 feet of elevation gain, so the hike can definitely be considered challenging.

Rocky outcroppings along the trail offer some incredible panoramic rewards, while the canyon-like walls of limestone rising up at various intervals offer geological intrigue and hiding spots for local wildlife.
The Bridger Gondola at the summit signals you've reached the end of the main Wildflower Trail, but numerous trails connect in the area so you can extend your journey and find new angles to appreciate.
Or, take some pressure off of achy knees by hopping on the gondola for a ride back down to the base.
Of course, Wyoming's high altitude setting may make for phenomenal snow sports and picture-perfect alpine adventures, but it also gives its most colorful attractions an all-too-short blooming season - often less than 60 days.
