The Baltimore area is full of plenty of pretty sights, both natural and man-made. Today we’re focusing on the man-made structures, as we feature some of the area’s best bridges. Check out this list and see how many of these bridges you’ve crossed.
Head to the nearby Patapsco Valley State Park to cross the two swinging bridges. Both cross the Patapsco River, with one located next to Illchester Road and the other located in the Avalon / Orange Grove area.
Also known as the Key Bridge, this structure crosses the Patapsco River, ending up in the Dundalk area. You'll also spot Fort Carroll from the bridge, which appears to be a floating fort that has been abandoned for years.

This historic bridge is located in Savage and it's one of the last remaining iron railroad bridges in the US. It doesn't connect to the road anymore, but you can park your car and walk across this unique formation.
Also known as Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge, this structure crosses the Patapsco River and carries five lanes of traffic. Although it appears uniquely beautiful from afar, an up-close look reveals weathered conditions, including potholes.
This historic covered bridge is nestled between Harford and Baltimore county, and it was constructed all the way back in 1865. It has since been restored several times and was most recently given a fresh coat of red paint. Several eerie tales swirl about this spot, so come check it out for yourself.
Heard towards Annapolis and you'll find this bridge, which is also known as the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge. It crosses the Severn River, offering sprawling and rustic sights of the water.
We couldn't end our list without including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. This wondrous structure is Maryland's most impressive bridge and crosses the Chesapeake Bay. It's only a 45 minute drive from Baltimore, the rest of Maryland to the eastern shore.
