What are some of the best hiking trails near me?

No matter which part of New York you’re located in, you’re sure to find some truly amazing hiking trails close by, especially the Buffalo area! Some of our favorite hiking trails around Buffalo include gems like the absolutely incredible Eternal Flame hike at Chestnut Ridge Road at Orchard Park, which is a short and beautiful hike that leads to – quite literally – a never-dying flame that lurks behind a waterfall. It’s seriously as amazing as it sounds! Another excellent Buffalo-area hiking trail is the amazing trek that is the Niagara Gorge trail, found at Whirlpool State Park and well worth an adventure or two!

What are the best scenic hikes in Buffalo?

We might be a little biased, but we feel like the most amazing scenic hikes in New York are all of them. Of course, some of Buffalo’s most beautiful hikes are at the top of the list! Just 45 minutes from the city is Beaver Meadow, where you’ll find the awe-inspiring Rusty Stove Trail (which is a lot more beautiful than it sounds, we promise). Long ago, there was a farmhouse in the woods, but all that remains of the property now is – you guessed it – a dismembered old rusty stove. Another simply stunning scenic hike near Buffalo is just south of it in Glenwood, at Sprague Brook County Park, where you’ll find a beautiful stream and a trail that goes around it. Buffalo is one of the best cities in New York for hiking and amazing hiking trails – we sure love it!
