While we don’t get much snow in the Queen City, we do normally get at least a few inches here and there each winter. This week alone the temperatures have been in the low to mid-20’s which is a sure sign that there might be some snow in our future in the next few months.

When we do get the white, fluffy stuff don’t pass up the rare opportunity to spend a day sledding or tubing. Our favorite place to enjoy the snow is Cordelia Park on North Davidson, and next time it snows you should check it out too!

Cordelia Park is located on North Davidson Street as you head into NoDa from Uptown Charlotte.

Known for its public swimming pool access in the summer, this park is also a great winter spot, especially when it snows.
Cordelia Park has plenty of long, steep hills that attract sledders and tubers every snowfall.

The sounds of laughter, excited squeals and playful shouting fills the park and echoes through the beautiful white landscape as Charlotteans delight in the soft, cold slush.
If you have the right equipment and daredevil attitude, it's possible to get up to thrilling speeds on the Cordelia Park hills.

This park is not for the faint of heart. You'll definitely feel a rush of adrenaline as you zoom down the snowy slopes.
The kids will love sledding at this park, too.

However, young children should be accompanied by an adult or older chaperone as it is easy to lose control on some of these inclines.

There's nothing more magical than taking a sled ride down one of the Cordelia Park hills with the glimmering skyline serving as your viewpoint.
In addition to snow tubing hills, Cordelia Park also has a great walkway for those who want to enjoy the snow at a slower pace.

Stroll through the park with friends and loved ones and take in the beautiful scenery and its unique snow covered perceptive.
And when dusk sets, the view becomes even more beautiful.

The skyline will light up the sky, reflecting on the peaceful, snowy landscape. It's the perfect sight before heading in to warm up by the fire and sip some hot chocolate!
