I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
Perhaps you’ve seen our previous article about Hardy, one of the most charming small towns in Arkansas. But did you know that there’s a hidden gem hiding in the town? It’s a pretty little oasis that’s perfect for a day trip. Tucked along the Spring River you’ll find Buford Beach, a scenic recreation park in Arkansas that’s worth the drive across the state. Pack a picnic, your kayak, and your entire family, and let’s spend the day at this gorgeous sanctuary.
It's road trip season y'all, so let’s explore our gorgeous state. Today, our adventure will take us to the tiny town of Hardy, located in north central Arkansas, just 15 miles from the Missouri border.
Surrounded by towering trees, this park is perfect for a relaxing afternoon by the water. I could sit in this peaceful spot listening to the river rapids and do absolutely nothing all day.

But of course, since we made the drive, let's explore the recreation area and all that it has to offer. Featuring swimming, fishing, floating, picnic areas, and more, you'll find plenty to do at this scenic oasis.
Also, the swim area is shallow, making it ideal for the little ones to wade in the water. However, the whitewater rapids can become swift, therefore, we recommend life jackets or arm floaties for the kids.
There's no doubt that this pretty little oasis is a great destination for a day trip in Arkansas, and in my opinion, it's certainly worth driving to Hardy.
Plus, we recommend exploring the cute little shops on Main Street in town. Grab some candy or ice cream while you're there.
So, what do you think about this pretty little oasis in Hardy? Would you drive across the state to spend the day there? Share your thoughts in the comments below. If you would like to learn more about this recreation area in Arkansas, visit the City of Hardy website.
