The Land is full of exceptional international cuisine… you just have to know where to look! Of course, AsiaTown is the best place for authentic Chinese eats, and Little Italy serves up incredible Italian foods. But where do you go for a cultural cuisine you haven’t tried before? Truth be told, you can find these sprinkled throughout the area’s various neighborhoods. And if you’re looking for incredible Puerto Rican cuisine, there’s one Cleveland restaurant and bakery in the Stockyards neighborhood that’s worth checking out. It’s a newcomer to the local foodie scene, but it’s one spot many Clevelanders have come to swear by. Let’s dig in together, shall we?
Let's spice things up with a visit to one of the best Puerto Rican restaurants in Cleveland.
If you've ever been to Las Villas Deli and Bakery, then you've already sampled some Puerto Rican cuisine in Cleveland. One of their finest food creators has since become the head chef at Gually's Bakery & Restaurant, which expands Cleveland's foodie scene in a magical way. If you've never had Puerto Rican food, you're in for a treat. This cultural cuisine takes influences from around the world — including traditional flavors from Africa, Spain, and the Americas — and rolls them up into one delicious dish.
Gually's Bakery & Restaurant is a flavorful experience on Denison Avenue in Cleveland, and since it quietly opened when COVID was claiming headlines, many Clevelanders have yet to discover it.
This place quietly opened in late 2019, but it's a restaurant that's still something of a hidden gem. There's so much to discover on their menu, from baked bread to octopus entrees.

It's a great place to dig into some delicious international cuisine, like Chuleta Can Can.
You'll find so much to love on the Gually's menu, from empanadillas to sandwiches and fries. It's an excellent opportunity to try something new, or to find a new twist on something familiar. Either way, your taste buds will thank you for the experience!
And the sweets up for grabs are downright heavenly, no matter what you decide to try.
I'm a sucker for good bakery, and the Gually's bakery does it right. Their homemade bread can be sampled in sandwich dishes or their all-day breakfast entrees, or you can opt to take a fresh loaf home with you to try your own hand at culinary perfection. There's also an ever-rotating selection of fresh-made pastries, and something is almost guaranteed to catch your eye.
The vibe, while colorful and welcoming, hides an entire history.
The building in which Gually's operates has hosted various interesting businesses over the years, including a church and a music venue. The space not only pays tribute to the building's history, but also celebrates Puerto Rican culture in its decor. Look for photos of small town life, pineapple fields, and more during your visit.
If you fall in love with the flavors of Puerto Rico during your visit, you'll want to stop by their snack corner.
If a restaurant and bakery wasn't enough, this local business is also part market. You'll love snagging some delicious Puerto Rican imports for the road!
...Of course, a doggy bag for home doesn't hurt, either!
Cleveland is a town full of international cuisine, but the best place to enjoy it, in many cases, is your own home. Sandwiches keep well in the fridge, and some spiced dishes seem to taste even better after a stay in the refrigerator. You can't go wrong with snacks for home!

Whatever you do, just make sure you save room for dessert.
If you have yet to try Puerto Rican cuisine in Cleveland, a trip to Gually's should be in order. I'm a huge advocate of trying cuisine from around the world, because something perfect for your palate is out there awaiting discovery.
