The Cleveland Flats have enjoyed an interesting history. From its early days as a shipping hub (after an iconic bridge war, but that’s a story for another time) to its memorable life as a 1980s nightlife hub, the Flats are as iconic as the Terminal Tower. Today, of course, the neighborhood has continued to evolve. A post-2010s revival has brought new energy to the riverfront district, including a slew of new businesses, attractions, and restaurants that followed. Today, we’re going to take a virtual visit to a riverfront restaurant in the Cleveland Flats to see what the neighborhood has become! Let’s dive in, shall we?
In 2019, dining in The Flats became even more exciting when Lindey's Lake House opened its doors on the East Bank.
I love visiting the Cleveland Flats! This area, which is home to icons like the Greater Cleveland Aquarium and the city's best dueling piano bar, has so much to offer beyond just nightlife. Of course, it also has incredible views of the Cuyahoga River, which is truly the heart and soul of this quirky Cleveland district.
The restaurant, which was already familiar to Beachwood residents, added windows to the new space to amp up the view.
Dining in the Cleveland Flats just wouldn't be the same without those iconic riverfront views. Lindey's capitalizes upon this beauty, offering views that pair perfectly with each and every menu item.
Complementing the views, fresh farm-to-table food takes center stage with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Familiar entrees are made delicious with crisp local veggies, organic meat from long-standing farms, and handmade meals that come from a real kitchen. With so much attention to detail, all that flavor is bound to pack a punch!
While many opt to sit on the patio to take advantage of the views, dining inside is always cozy.
Warm and welcoming, the ambiance here deliciously captures the farm-to-table flair. It seems like almost everything in The Flats has a theme, but this restaurant almost feels like a home!
Lindey's Lakehouse is especially warm and welcoming in the colder months, as a fireplace adds a bit of ambiance.
Covering roughly 4,500 square feet in size, there's no shortage of seating in this welcoming Cleveland restaurant. You might even feel like you're sitting in a real lake house, though it's nestled against the river.
But no matter when you visit, there's a dish that pairs perfectly with the season.
The Lindey's Lake House menu has something for everyone, from brunch to dinner and from happy hour to dessert. Try the Lake House Tacos (which can be ordered with gochujang glazed tofu if you prefer a meat-free option) for something lighter and airy, or dig into a hefty serving of barbecue ribs for an indulgent experience.

And many upscale options keep this spot date-night-friendly.
Try the prime ribeye for a meal you won't forget, or make it a surf and turf meal by incorporating any of their various seafood options. Whatever you decide on, remember to save room for dessert... their key lime pie is always a hit!
Since the kitchen is open late (until 10 p.m. on weekdays and until 11 p.m. on weekends), you'll be able to catch a slice of local nightlife during your visit.
The river isn't just beautiful during the day... it's also a nighttime wonder! With well-lit boats traveling under light-encrusted bridges, nighttime dining at Lindey's is accompanied by incredible views.
Day or night, experiences here are always memorable.
