Have you ever been to Wray, Colorado ? Have you ever even heard of Wray, Colorado? Chances are, unless you live in the far eastern portion of our great state, you haven’t. However, this small town near the border of both Kansas and Nebraska is charming and pleasant, and if you like the vibe of small town, prairie life, then you’re going to love it. It was incorporated in 1906, has a population of about 2,300 people, and it’s the county seat of Yuma County.
Wray, Colorado, is a great little town! This small town is an excellent example of a small town on the plains. There's a historic Main Street that's lovely to stroll on.
Wray was named an "All America City" in 1993 by the National Civic Council.
The Yuma County Courthouse was built between 1903 and 1904.
Many of the homes in Wray were built around the same time. The local residents take great pride in their community, and you'll find many well-maintained older homes like this one on your walks around town.
The Wray Museum is open most days of the week year-round. You can learn a lot about the history of this part of Colorado when you visit it.
The Wray Aquatic Center is a very happening place during the summer months. It's very affordable if you'd like to stop by, cool off, and go on some waterslides.
