Indianapolis is full of incredible places and attractions to visit, and some of these sites are truly iconic. We bet everyone who lives in Indy will instantly recognize these 11 iconic places in the Circle City.
This circle sits in the middle of downtown Indy and is marked by cobblestone roads and the war memorial at the very center. Around the holidays, the circle transforms into Circle of Lights and becomes a popular attraction for tourists all across the state.
All you have to do is see a little bit of the dinosaurs to realize you're at the Children's Museum. This notable museum is the largest of its kind in the entire world and is clearly recognizable to Hoosiers.

There aren't many places as special as the Indy canal and any Indy resident could quickly determine if a photo was taken at this majestic spot.
This speedway is home to the largest single-day sporting event in the world, as well as a racecar museum and site for Lights at the Brickyard during the holidays. It would be pretty impossible for any Hoosier to not be able to pick this racing course out of a lineup.
You came for the steaks but returned for the killer shrimp cocktail. This iconic steakhouse is one of the best restaurants in the world and any true Hoosier would recognize it instantly.
As the stadium where our beloved Colts play, this iconic building is one of the most notable and easiest to recognize.
Our zoo is pretty incredible, housing an aquarium, butterfly garden, and full-scale zoo, so it's definitely unique enough for us to always be able to identify.

This historic building has iconic signage as the former Fountain Square Theatre. Whether it's the middle of June or donning the electric Christmas tree its sports in the winter, any Hoosier would instantly know what this building is.
The Rathskeller is one of the most historic buildings in Indy and was designed in part by Kurt Vonnegut's grandfather. It's pretty impressive and intricate so it's easy to stand out in a crowd.

Last but not least, who could ever not pick out our state fairgrounds buildings? As a huge attraction during the state fair and used for expos, events, concerts, and more throughout the year, every Hoosier has awesome memories here.
