Of course some of us aren’t like any others, but for many of us, there are just some things we need to function correctly in our day to day lives. It’s not that we absolutely can’t survive without these things, but we’d rather not live in a world where they aren’t around to enjoy. Here are a few things essential to life in Kansas City.
Whether you're into football, baseball, soccer, or basketball, you'll have a piece (or four) of team gear to wear whenever you need it.
Though I don't recommend compact umbrellas with the winds we get here, I do think it's a great idea to have one nearby, because who knows what kind of weather we'll end up with! The same goes for jackets or different shoes.

Coffee drives many Kansas Citians' productivity, but we also indulge in some of the best coffee around. We've got plenty of choices around, so don't be scared to keep trying them until you your favorite!
With so many fountains around, can you imagine how quiet our city would be without the ornamental waterworks? We love our fountains and they bring us beauty, even when the skies are grey.
Some definitely take their feuds seriously, but most of us just enjoy poking fun at the other side of the line. After all, we all live here together, no matter which side we sleep on.
We love our KC barbecue, and it loves us all back, with sauce and meat and all the right spices.
We have to also include the different varieties of food available around us. What would we do without our favorite restaurants serving Italian, Mexican, and everything in between?

What better to go with dinner than a brew to match? Boulevard (and all of our other craft beer favorites) are a welcome sight in every bar worth its salt.
Not saying we'd die without it, but we definitely profit off of all this tech. Everything - from our Google Fiber to our offices filled with computers - make Kansas City an advanced city that most of the country often forgets.
Swope Park is massive, but we're also surrounded by many parks and nature centers to fully enjoy the green side of things when we need a break from all that technology.
I wouldn't miss these for the world, so you'll find me outside every day hoping to catch a beautiful sky with my camera to keep in my collection of Kansas City treasures. Even if you can't take a photo, make sure to take a moment to enjoy it.
