Sometimes a city is just so charismatic that you’ll never forget it. Those of us who have lived here in Kansas City for a while still find plenty of new things to see and do every day. Our city is full of surprises, whether that’s in the form of new restaurants opening or fun events you’ve never experienced before. We love it that way, and we’d never change a thing! Welcome to Kansas City, and here’s a few things you might not expect when you move in.
Snowing followed by bright sunshine? Rain with no clouds? Snow in early May? It all has happened here, so it's safe to say you just need to be prepared for anything.

3. Not all of us actually get to have Google Fiber.
It's not available in quite a few areas, and some of have even reported getting installations cancelled and accounts closed. Maybe it's too much hassle?
We love our barbecue, but we're unquestionably loyal to our favorite spot to find it. If you ask a group of people where their favorite is, there might be a debate headed your way.
Whether you're living in the city or further out in the suburbs, you'll encounter plenty of ticks and mosquitoes around during the warmer months. It's something you might forget about until it's too late, as people from other areas tend to only use bug spray unless they're out camping or hiking.
A few very important jazz artists got their big break right in Kansas City, so most of us don't bat an eye when there's live music played around us. Just appreciate the art, and tip them if you're feeling generous!
9. If you want to go to Denver, prepare for a long, uneventful drive.
There's just no questioning the fact. Kansas City is awesome, and we're not afraid to tell you all about it!
