Looking for an intriguing and classic historical landmark in Los Angeles? Check out the Historic Palm Tree in Exposition Park. This tree has been living in the city since 1900 and has been in its current spot since 1914.

The tall and beautiful tree stands proudly in Exposition Park as one of the oldest trees in Southern California. It certainly deserves its historical landmark status. It has quite an interesting history attached to it.

It was originally at the Southern Pacific station’s entrance and served as a sight that let travelers know they had arrived in the big city.

After a while, the new Southern Pacific station was constructed elsewhere, but the tree was appreciated and brought to its current home at the park as a present to the city from Southern Pacific.
After you’ve taken in the majestic tree, check out the rest of the gorgeous Exposition Park. The rose garden is just one of many incredible highlights of the fun destination. It’s a great place to take the kids for a lovely afternoon of exploring.
